Foster or For Ever Home Needed – for Potter
by Jane ~ April 4th, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized.Foster or Forever home needed:
Potter is a 7-8 month old Sheltie cross and weighs about 20 lbs. He is in need of an urgent foster home. Potter was badly abused causing both physical and emotional injury and will require special love and TLC. He is currently under vet care and all vet care will be covered by AARF Rescue. He gets along with most everyone, humans and other dogs alike. Because of his abusive past and some health issues, he needs to be in an only one dog home for now. He loves attention and never wants to leave your side. He is food submissive and afraid to eat if you are too close. He will crouch in fear but is NOT aggressive. Potter needs training ‘manners’, routine and structure by a experienced/strong role model who knows how to handle, understand and love him. He is just getting confident enough to play, but has that puppy mouthing thing going on. Potter stopped eating at one point, but is now eager to chow down on a special diet and is gaining weight.
His body is healing both physically and emotionally and we see improvements every day. He loves walks and is very social and wants to play with everyone he meets. Potter does not play with toys or chewies as he was probably abused with them. The thing he seems to like most is cuddling his head into your lap. Potter would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day or works from home. He is an active little guy who is now starting to enjoy life as he should have been.
If you are interested and have the time and the commitment it will take to foster Potter, please send us an email at deannaaarfrescue@yahoo.ca
Please note due to Potter’s small size and vulnerability no children under the age of 15.
