To get the ball rolling on this topic I will share a couple of dog cookie recipes of ours but please send us your comments including your favourite recipes.

Grama’s Cookies for Hudson

¾ cup of skim milk powder

1 cup of wheat germ, oat bran and/or cream of wheat combined

128 ml meat puree baby food  (beef or chicken with broth or veggie with beef)

1 egg

Mix above ingredients together. Drop batter (teaspoon size) onto greased cookie sheet and bake @ 350 degrees for approx. 15 minutes. Recipe should make 30-40 cookies depending on size. Cookies are crunchy on outside but soft inside. Cookies must be refrigerated.

Inga’s Dog Cookie Recipe

2 cups flour

1 cup combined chicken or beef broth and 1 egg

3-4 cloves crushed garlic

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Roll out batter on well-floured surface to about 1/8^th of an inch thick. Using a pizza wheel cut across and down ending up with ¾ – 1“ squares.

Place squares on greased cookie sheet and bake @ 350 for 12 – 15 minutes turning once. Turn oven off and leave cookies in oven to get really crunchy while oven cools down.

Cookies do not need to be refrigerated.
