Liver Cancer

by Elena ~ October 20th, 2010

My pitbull was diagnosed with liver cancer, the recommendation was to put her to sleep. I was able to see the xray with interpretations from the vet. Her liver is usually right past the last rib (as he points) THIS is her liver (motioning under belly area) he says there’s a small area that still looks good. How much of a dogs liver can be removed?

I also purchased Flor Essence and wondering if I should give my kaya some.

Fleas and Ticks

Protection /prevention. Natural remedies vs Program. I’ve used Program for years and now I’m questioning it’s benefits. What are some Natural alternatives.

Walking/Exercising My Dog

by John ~ June 5th, 2010

I see a lot of people walking, or should I say running, their dogs while they are on their bikes or roller blades. I can’t believe that this is good for the dog, especially in the hot summer months. I don’t think there are too many breeds that should be running non stop for extended periods of time. Can you comment on this?

Now that the nice weather is here, I love to take my dog for walks at night, but I’m a bit worried about safety. Do you have any suggestions?

Lawn & Garden Products – Cocoa Mulch

by ourdogblog ~ May 6th, 2010

Please be aware that the ingredient theobromine is at a much more concentrated level in these garden products than in dark chocolate. This makes these types of products toxic to our four legged friends either through direct consumption or from licking their paws after walking through it. Dogs can be attracted to this product because it smells like chocolate.  If your dog has ingested this product symptons may be from stomach upset to cardiac arrest.  It may takes hours or days for symptons to manifest. If you believe your animal has been exposed to this product and is showing signs of toxicity get in touch with your vet asap or go to emergency. Smaller dogs require much less exposure to experience toxicity than larger dogs.
